The practice of religion as native to man. We cannot find an easy purpose to the journey of life and are in wonder of the creatures and life around us. We have either resignation, dread or relief and the prospect of death. Si it's natural, that man, asking so many questions seek answers and also a promise of salvation. So let's look at the humanity of these journeys dedicated to worship and devotion to powers adherents consider greater than man.
This is not an endorsement and not a critique of any religion, just the celebration of man's nobility in his quest for nobility of the soul.

"Each year, about half a million people make a pilgrimage to 1,500 temples of the Jain religion, perched high on a hill overlooking the town of Palitana in Gujarat, western India.
The ornate buildings make up one of the holiest sites for Jain followers - who believe in lives of harmlessness and think that animals and plants, as well as human beings, contain living souls.
Here, the BBC's Sanjoy Majumder visits Shatrunjay Hill and makes the long climb with the pilgrims."
