Signature block limit

The forum software only allows a four-line signature block, and if a line is long (or appears long, owing to HTML tags in it), it is implicitly wrapped, causing it to count as more than one line.

As a result, for example, I can't have even a blank line before the web link line in my signature.

I would suggest that this four-line maximum be relieved.

I think the limit used to be more liberal.

Would five lines fix that?

We wanted folk to list links but not make it an advertising board. However, anyone here some time with contribution history, who has a genuine business are encouraged to have links to their own website. We exclude porn and the like. We want to help anyone we can put bread on their table!

Hi, Asher,

Yes, I think that would be quite reasonable.

Well, if I ever get a Web site that has to do with putting bread on my table, I'll take advantage of that.

In the meantime, I'll just stick with one I hope helps people here learn things.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Doug

And I used to have something similar here, until I made the mistake of trying to update it, and got caught by the new four-line limit.

Doug,

Nothing has changed recently so I can't understand how if it was working it changed behavior. Still, I'll look at the control panel and see what we can do!

A votre service, mon ami!

Hi, Asher,

Doug,

I think the change was a while ago. I didn't notice it until several months ago. It doesn't show up with respect to existing signature blocks - the limit seemingly is only applied when one enters (or changes) one's signature block.

Still, I'll look at the control panel and see what we can do!

A votre service, mon ami!
Merci beaucoups!

Best regards,

Doug
