Hi Michael!
If you have profiled these, this is really great! I used the Dells and the colors are excellent. I think this is one of the better monitors to wow a bride and her mother in reviewing wedding pictures to get sale on the best packages.
Also great for events.

Michael what happened to the problems I had read of earlier in getting the Dells profiled and dialed down to reasonable brightness levels like 100-120 cd/m²?

I was able to easily resolve them by setting the RGB values lower...more like 25, 25, 25 rather than 50,50,50) and then the brightness control would allow you to adjust within proper limits like you mention. Of course the RGB values after calibrating will not be equal :>)
The monitor come with a 30 day trial (of course check!), so you have nothing to lose but the shipping expense and your time...

OK. I had seen mentions elsewhere of using that technique and that it caused banding. Guess not, huh?

Interesting. I'll have to try this with a Sony EcoBrite display that I wasn't able to get below about 160 or so. Otherwise, an excellent display, but because my Vaio laptop was previous generation EcoBrite, it couldn't be dialed up to match (max 120, maybe).
