This Tuareg festival in Niger must have been a thrilling experience for the semi-nomadic tribes-folk to meet relatives and friends from neighboring countries. These are very artistic people. They seem to have a flair for dressing up and for valuing beauty.

People have been assembling from all over Niger and the nearby countries for this impressive showcase of the Tuareg riders. They seem like a handsome and elegant people. They have long aristocratic necks Modigliani would have loved to paint.

See the rest of the pictures and story here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-11417812). Also look at this report on a festival earlier in the year here (http://blogs.nationalgeographic.com/blogs/intelligenttravel/2010/03/tuareg-festival.html).

Certan people are renowned for their beauty. In addition to the Tuareg, the Fulani cattle herders in Northern Nigeria should be mentioned. Some mention is made here (http://www.jamtan.com/jamtan/fulani.cfm?chap=0&linksPage=258).
