I suppose that this is a bit of a cliché at this time of the year

There was a brisk frost recently, followed by a sunny morning, for me to try out my new K-x in the garden. I was in too much of a hurry and should have stopped down more, as there was plenty of light. Exposure: 1/1600, Aperture Priority f/4.5, ISO 400. The standard Pentax 18-55 f/3.5 'kit' lens at 40mm. I need more depth of field, yet I did want a very out of focus background.
Image has been rotated, cropped and mildly sharpened (110% 2 pix radius) in Photoshop Elements, which I am just beginning to get the hang of. On the full size image one can see the legs of the little fly in good sharpness.

Matin Evans: Jack Frost and the Campanula
Martin,
Don't second guess yourself about "should-haves"! You did what you did and now the picture takes over. It's fun and just fine! I like the photograph! How about some frozen marigolds or bunny rabbits to follow?
I like the effect of white icicles and the natural but unusual color of the flowers. I have written about clichés before. A cliché shouldn't be apologized for just used as if it's original and have the swagger to pull it off!
Don't let that notion of cliché's being bad bother you for one Hollywood moment, (1 nanosecond, at the moment)! If it is enjoyable, that's good enough for me. If it's fun, then it's O.K.

The word cliche is not needed. Remember, even the most "cliche" photograph is just like an icicle or snowflake, different from any other one ever captured or seen.

Ah, Asher, I live in a rural village. Around here we don't 'shoot' bunny rabbits with cameras. We tend to eat what we shoot (except for rats, and I don't fire at rats because I rather like them).
Jake said: "even the most "cliche" photograph is just like an icicle or snowflake". I suppose then that the natural fate is for it to disappear, like the icicle or snowflake, as soon as warm light gets to it!
Thanks again to you all, and have a very Happy Christmas.

I guess you're pulling my leg........... or perhaps you don't know that snapdragons, (or when turned over, Bunny Rabbits), are common names for pretty flowers that can be made to talk by squeezing the sides and then being a ventriloquist. My kids loved them!

As for killing them, NaH!!!! They're an endangered species, LOL! Also I heard that the Angel Gabriel might be a rabbit. They get everywhere!
