Hello,
Well, I've just signed up here after hearing a lot of good things about these forums from various places. I live in the south of Switzerland, in the Italian area, just outside the city of Lugano. I'm still trying to find a motive for photography other than "I enjoy it". For me it grew out of travel, although I did go through an "artistic" phase some 10 years back where I used photography as raw material for illustration. These days I just stick to photography.
I'm also not so sure why I'm interested in discussing photography. I don't really have the education or language to engage with the experts, but the "hey, nice photo, thanks for sharing" stuff is about as captivating as doing the laundry. Quick & easy opinions about equipment sometimes fill boring moments, but these are very interesting either. I loathe the "what kind of camera do you use" type of question.
So, maybe in these discussions I might start to get an idea of where I want to go. Some of stuff I've read here by Guy Tal for example resonates.
For no reason other than as part of this introduction, here is one of my recent photos which I'm quite pleased with...
