This is so important and a brilliant advance. I applaud the PH.D. student for his work! I hope it also adds scaling as well, so the balls shown could be put in the hallway and perspective would be right too.

Forgers could always do this perfect shadowing of a 3D object, but now it's going to be something any creative can use fast. So for art and advertising, this is a great and economical advance. This makes it even more important for photographs to be written in such a way that they are tamper-proof.
