Here's the question: should I bother? Is there anything worth trying here? Or is this just what it essentially is: a seriously flawed family album picture.

It came out of the camera looking pretty much like this. But I felt there's something... how she's holding that sphere of light and decided to give it a go. Your opinions will be highly appreciated, as always. Cheers, Jarmo

Here is my (as usual very personal) point of view.
Taking the viewpoint from behind gives the picture a 'Sorcerer's Apprentice' touch, as if you should not have seen it. I like the idea.
Concerning the source of light, I would have liked a stronger focus on it. right now the backdrop does not have a lot of structure and I would have liked to see through a fall-off of luminosity with increasing distance from this sphere of light. This would have helped (me) to grasp the light source better.
This is just what I see, others will see more and different things.
Best regards,
Michael

That's a splendid idea, Michael! Thank you, I'll take a look and see if the original allows that.
