I do occasionally make images when I'm not stirring the pot.

Negative size is 9.5"X20"

Camera is an ancient near east antique that Hugo Zhang rescued and had the odd sized 9.5X20" film holders built for. The idea behind the odd size was to use Kodak Aerial Recon film which was available until very recently on 9.5" wide by 125 foot spools.

Yes, Virginia, we're actually talking about 190 square inches of information on a substrate. Lens was a J. C. Somerville Wide Angle Aplanat type.

Oh my! Such magic realism. Big film stops the world and all the details in it to afford a deep inspection of time and place better than just looking.

Is that a shadow of the camera, the photographer, and the car on the far side of the creek?
