Colorful leaves indeed, Klaus!

We don't have amber trees in north central Illinois, so I did a bit of internet snooping to learn more about them. One oddball item: the wood of the tree used to be used in the interior of railroad sleeper cars. Anyway, your photos are a fine introduction to the species.

This seems to be the trees that are outside my house.

I guess you are calling it "amber Tree" as it reminds you of the color of amber resin.
