I love the bokeh which complements the dog's coat nicely.
Is that cropped? I'd like to see a little more of the dog. do like the fact that the dog is looking into a space. This, IMJO, could even have double the empty space although it doesn't need it.
Could you guys say the breed of each dog ao they will become searchable!
Thanks for one of the most evocative pet portraits I've seen lately. Your friend seems to be lost in thought, far more serious than most dogs, but I'm sure that a moment later that seriousness was gone as he dashed off investigating some new smell. I'd like the color of the dog's coat to be a little lighter, but the darkness helps set him off from the background.
thanks <chas>!! your suggestion of lightening up the coat a bit is an interesting one...worth pondering. i came to the conclusion that the downsized web version has slightly larger and darker areas on the coat than when the larger version is viewed on my monitor. i'm curious enough to explore this a bit in photoshop anyway...the print version will suffer the same in the black as well no doubt. black animals are frustrating to photograph!!
