sadly, here on the east coast the clouds might get in our way...and we only get half the eclipse in the first place :(

And here in Northern Calif, it's only 3 degrees above the horizon and only 1/2 hour after moonrise, so it will be difficult to see at sea level.

I hope you guys get lots of great shots, I look forward to seeing yours.

Not a great shot, but at ISO3200, f8 @ 1/6sec usng an EF300 with 2x TC and mirror lockup, its the best I can get!

It was the 1.st time I was shooting the Moon. :)

Well, I set off with the best of intentions, all set to take a series of shots as the shadow crept across the moon. Alas, my equipment failed me! I just couldn't get the camera to stick to the tripod. Subsequent investigation showed that a small screw on the quick release plate had come loose, and the protruding head was preventing the camera from engaging fully. Pleased i solved it, but no comfort at the time.

So I was reduced to hand-held. OK when the moon was bright and full, but as things got darker I got nothing worth the effort. Oh b*****!!

Here's my pathetic attempt at documenting the eclipse.
