Hello everyone.
I was recommended by a fellow photographer, Antonio Correia, to join this forum, so here I am.
A little bit about myself. I've been a photographer for about a year and a half now, and have recently graduated from my Canon 300D to a Canon 1DS MKII. I thought that if I was going to upgrade, I might as well go all the way.
I've set myself a website up http://mrw.smugmug.com. I'm always looking for comments on my photos there, so if any of you have a spare 5 mins, and would like to comment on my images, please feel free todo so. That's how we all get better, is by learning about what works well, and what we could've done differently. Many thanks in advance if you do decide to look.
I mainly shoot landscapes, wildlife and floral, but I'll try my hand at anything really. I have done a few weddings, few martial arts events (by the way I'm also a 2nd Dan Black belt in Tae Kwon-Do) as well as parties and other events.
I sure as with all yu other photographers, you've all gone through that stage of trying to get your feet on the ground, and build up a name for yourself in your area, which I'm trying to do now. I'm glad to say that things are going well.
I've won a few competitions and got some of my work published in the local papers. Migh not be up to a top notch Daily Sun level, but I'm happy with it. I enetered a calendar competition at my works, and won with all 3 of the enteries that I submitted. I was really happy wih that, and of course had to buy a calendar for all my family
I'm alway looking for different competitions to entr, but a search on Google does'nt bring much out, apart from the different forum competitions. If anyone knows of any comps in the UK, that are open to keen amatuers like me, the please let me know. Either email me on mwheeler04@aol.com, or message me on this forum.
Anyway. I really look forward to being a part of this great forum, and look forward to the help and support between all the members.
Many thanks for reading, as I do know I waffle on a bit.
Regards,
Martin W (MRW Photography)
