Some layout suggestions

I have some layout suggestions; ignore my painting skills ;)

The title of a topic could be moved upwards a bit, and the author info could be in a small panel at the right. That would save quite some space and you can start reading earlier.

I would also like to see a little darker background, that would be easier on the eyes.

By the way, is there any particular reason there are no smilies on the forum?

this forum has been built using vBulletin.
Therefore we can customize it but they are things that we cannot change... like what you're asking, sorry!

BTW We're not very keen with smilies and avatars as well, we want to keep professionnal discussion and serious appearance
