We'll see when it actually does materialize, but I'm sure it will not remain unnoticed http://www.openphotographyforums.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif .

rumors are flying today!
bart, some in the netherlands say they have received cameras from canon service with firmware 1.0.9...certainly it has not as of this moment been posted on canon europe web site. also, some have claimed that the new jersey center will put it on cameras brought in starting today.
stay tuned :)

But according to RG, it doesn't fix the problem.

On the other hand there are news/rumors emerging from Germany that there is a hardware fix now identified.

If it's a hardware fix, this will mean more delays on getting the MkIII as the existing stocks will be called back by Canon for fixing.

I see canon have released fw v.1.1 rather than 1.0.9...interesting!

I read somewhere that there was a small bug in v1.0.9.... v1.1.10 is not functionally different from it.

Yes I'd read that too on the Canon site I think. I can't say I notice any difference in my camera with the upgrade, ie it was working fine before and still is now.

Hi Guys

I am given to understand that there is a further firmware release slated for September this year (1.1.1) which is currently undergoing field tests. My information is that this reelase is also aimed at tweaking the AF systems

I am sure we will hear a lot more in due course
