Greetings All!
Well, might as well say something... I'm an in-again/out-again/in-again photographer... I've been in photography since I was 15, I've had 3 darkrooms over the years, and moved to digital back when 1 megapixel was cool. ;}
I've been mostly out of photography, though, and am having fun getting back into it. I'm currently a student at Carnegie Mellon University (hence my pittsburgh address, since they wouldn't move the school out west for me), studying Robotics.
I'm interested in landscape, macro, models, artistic ****s, and pano's... I tend to end up doing a lot of texture shots, for some reason. :}
Consider me an experienced newbie and you've probably got me about right. :}
Ciao all!

I MP back is still cool, especially on the Mars rover. Takes great panos.
Freud would have a ball with MP envy!

That has especially interesting photography in that the cameras (eyes) must identify so many features and be given no end of rules and I guess the ability to learn new ones to meet their prime goals.

Models and artistic ****$ may require more of a studio capability and with the former, at least, a source for hte wardrobe, makeup and hair as well as b.g. design.
We are super happy to have you here and know you will have a positive experience.
We look forward to your posts. Why not the robots or any of the other areas you like

Hey Asher!
Yep, models probably DO require more of a studio setup, but not always! I've done a lot of work in community theater, so costumes/wardrobe isn't much of a burden on me. :} It's amazing what you can find in a community theater costume shop!! And I have a slight edge there... My wife is my makeup artist, and she did costuming tor theater, too... so if we need something special, we can find/borrow/steal/make it! Isn't it nice to have hobbies that support each other? :}
As for the robotics, you are correct! One of my functions in my lab is to help select projects and keep them on track... so, one I picked is with vision, of course! And we're doing fairly well, considering how much time we've had to work on it! We're doing things with stereo frames, getting distance and size based on taking multiple pictures from different positions and analyzing the changes in size/orientation/relation between items, etc. It's fun, and challenging!
Well, This is quick, because I'm on vacation on the Eire Canal... Wireless, it's everywhere! ;}
Ciao!
