So, Ray,

When will we hit the limit:

of having internet capacity for log increase of the log increase of internet messaging?

of being able to understand the significance of what we have offered to us?

of being able to choose what to focus on?

of being able to control who controls the filters?

of being able to prevent the machines from becoming empowered to evaluate what's good for us?

of having enough waking hours left for riding a pony or meeting real humans?

Some of the cited figures may not be very reliable. But, on the whole, the message is nearly identical to Robert Hughes' "Shock of the New" PBS series (and book) circa 1990, and Alvin Toffler's "Future Shock" written 20 years before that.

The gist of this stuff is to instill fear and shock of emerging and predicted change. It's sensationalism based on observation.
