All shots 5D, this one, 50mm f1.4 lens at f3.2 1/1000

I sat under this Horse Chestnut tree, with it's beautiful fresh new leaves with my dog Kim the other day feeling blessed and very contented. My poor old dog lost the use of her back legs three and a half weeks ago. We have spent the last few weeks nursing her back to health, and this was shot was taken after her first walk, slow and short, just a couple of hundred yards, but fantastic. We sat here together a while looking up at the leaves and thinking how lucky we are....

I just wanted to share the good feeling of the last few days, and our happiness at Kim's recovery.

You must be content indeed Jan :). Glad to hear about Kim's recovery. Wasn't there a song about small things that make us happy? Sometimes we are so focussed, up-tempo and stressed that we do not have time to slow down and smell the roses.

Sorry about the cliche ridden reply, but I can't help myself (LOL)

Cheers,

Hi Cem

You're so right, I think it's vital to have time in every day to get outside and enjoy the world around us, and yes I do literally walk around touching and sniffing the plants, and appreciating every moment. Little Kim dog seems to be enjoying everything around her more now too. And one more cliche for you.....they say the best things in life are free, I think they definately are. Thank you for sharing in our happiness.

Hello Aida

Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked them. Kim continues to improve, she walked for about 15 minutes today and is very happy in herself, so we continue to feel very contented, and exceptionally lucky that she has recovered so well.....

The pictures are very nice and I'm very happy for you and your dog.

We just recently went through the same thing with one of our dogs. Hans is 14 and has made a full recovery. In fact he is running now.

Hello Ron

How nice of you to let me know about your dog Hans, I'm so glad to hear that he made a full recovery, Kim is almost 15 years old and looks set to make a complete recovery, seemed unbelievable that she would recover her back paws literally trailed behind her and she was in a lot of pain, we were warned by the vet that she may have to be put to sleep..... But here we are after much TLC from all of us and the vet, she is almost back to her old self.....BTW glad you liked the photos too, thanks for sharing in our doggy happiness!
