Canon today put into effect it's "spring rebate" program. It offers "instant rebates" (effectively, discounts put into place by the resellers for the covered items) on the EOS 5D, EOS 40D, the Speedlite 430EX and 580EX II flash units, and a number of lenses. The program is in effect through July 19, 2008.
The rebate on the 5D is $300.00 and on the 40D, $200. That takes B&H's price on the 40D ("US warranty") to $939.95. For the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro lens, the rebate is $30.00 (B&H price: $370.00).
The rebate on the Speedlite 580EX II flash unit is $30.00 .
