Interesting image, which certainly shows the element of camouflage.

What were the circumstances in which you obtained this image?

Also, what about the image itself - camera, settings, post-processing, etc. There is a very noisy feel which I find distracting - a scan of a print? Also fairly "flat" with a limited tonal range from dark to light - this could be addressed to some degree by adjustment of curves/levels in Photoshop.

Good observations . . . I was creeping along slowly through the Serengeti in Tanzania when a saw this lioness just laying in the grass about 30 feet in front of me. I snapped with a 200 mm telephoto and slowly retreated. She never moved.

The grainy effect probably comes from the fact that the image was scanned, but it reminded me of the "old days" when we'd shoot Tri-X and push the 400 ASA film to 1600.

I've played with the tonal range and colors and the image comes out well, but it loses a little of its "camouflage" feel. An interesting connundrum, but at least I wasn't eaten.
