Hi Nikolai,

You are a busy fellow. Your draping skills are up there now! Did you get help?

#1 is the most graceful and overall the best. It works in that no feature stops my eye movement and detracts from the sweep if interest created by the pose. It's intact.

As an example of a problem area I'd look at the ankle of #4 (too rough looking, lighting, perspective, lack of post processing) and calves and thighs, which because of perspective, perhaps seem too wide.

Is this is your same current studio? Can you show your lighting setup the distances so people can learn?

Asher, as always I do appreciate your time and attention!

Hi Nikolai,
You are a busy fellow.
Well, I guess I'm getting popular amongst LA modeling community. Good word travels far:)

Thank you! Actually, it was all me:)

Thank you, I like it too!

I agree, I may re PS it...

Yeah, the same place, don't have antyhing else:).
Here are few "behind the scenes" shots from that day (all taken with 10-22 and mostly with 580EXII):

WA view from above:

WA view from the model's position (I used that beige chair ~15 ft away to shoot with my 70-200 - you'll see the results in a next batch;-):

WA view from the "full body" shooting position (I used 17-55/2.8 for the actual full body shots):

Hi,
always nice to see the layout and how people work in the space they have and to good result in this case, well done, lovely lady.

The shadows are a bit harsch seeing the light you used if you want less shadow try a small softbox on your accentlight and move the lights closer.

I will be in LA next week to teach two workshops so I'm looking forward to seeing some LA models :D

greetings,
Frank

Frank, thank you, appreciate it!

Yes, I know, I'm slacking in the hairlight softbox dept. I was planning to make it next weekend but now it looks like I'm going to have another shoot instead... Oh well, maybe I'll make some really quick one Saturday and then actually use it Sunday;-)

Where in LA are you gonna be?

Cheers!

Hi,
I will be in long beach as base but wander around :D
The two workshops are held in the LA area see www.frankdoorhof.com/usworkshops for the flyer and locations, I have a few seats left mail me for info.

In LA I will be mostly shooting for myself, street, desert, grafity etc. still looking for a good guide for the rough LA areas.

I see!
Well, that's the part I can't really help you with. I'm trying to stay away from the rough areas. Especially in LA. Double so having a few grand worth of gear hanging off my neck. ;-) Also, no models there, usually :)

Hi Nikolai,

You have now reached a stage where you must really decide what you want to do. You have all the lighting equipment and sufficient photoshop skills. Now you have things working, you need to set entirely new goals. That means possible workshops and fine models s well as makeup artists for all shoots.

BTW, I've arranged for Frank to make a $50 per day discount for OPF members for his workshop. If you or antone else can manage this, it would be a great experience.
