green light

I drive by this light pretty regularly, one day I saw this bird sitting in it and thought that might be a decent picture of course I did not have my camera with me at the time. The next day I saw the same bird hanging out in the same green light and again I did not have my camera with me. Day three comes around and I had my camera with me, I was maybe 7 or 8 cars back from the light and made the shot through my windshield soon as the light turned green. D200 70-200mm @ 200mm

Hi Charlie! very, very nice story and cute pict of this guy…

Maybe I had tried to crop a bit of the top of image, to get a more panoramic vision to go with the light pole. Just a thought…

If you wish to reshoot (not thru the windshield) one could bet that he will be there next morning. ;-)

Charlie,

Now you have that bird! I hope you might use a long lens and get more of his/her. This would make and excellent personal series on one being outside of us.

Thanks for commenting :)

Unfortunately 200mm is my longest lens, this is already a considerable crop of the original file also. I like the square format as it is now but also the big white void is sometimes bothersome, feels like the picture is going to fall on it's side, the pano format crop suggested should take care of that

WTF!

This is a brilliant take on the subject at hand. The large white area adds to it; it does not subtract, does not undermine but underline.
