Very nice shot, Eric! Might I ask what lens/focal length you used?

I love the composition, the look on the bullfrog's face, the way the light falls across the image, and the sheer clarity. It's like we're peeking into the seclusion of Mr. Frog's front porch, catching him watching the world go by from his favorite rocking...rock, as it were. However, at the same time he seems poised, ready to flee at the slightest hint of predation, or perhaps to pounce on some unsuspecting water bug himself!

I love it, the focus is on the eye, the water is rendered superbly as are the surroundings... bravo!

Eric,

That picture is so much fun! Interesting those proptotic eyes. Sticking out like that the eyes can be rotated laterally as a hunted creature and be on the lookout for enemies. Also the eyes can rotate inwards to the hunting position so it can grab an insect.

Anyway, that frog seems so anthropomorphic! Looking t it one can start to ask what it might be thinking, like "When's a damn fly going to come along?" or "She's late again!" or "Does he have to keep taking those pictures of me to put on the internet so people will see my grumpy expression?"
