Hi y'all!
I'm very glad to find and join what seems to be a good pro photo community. Although not a pro myself (I mean, I'm not leaving off my photography, I can always appreciate a high class company.
I'm 46, male, originally from USSR (Russia), now living and working in Southern California, 40 miles from Los Angeles.
While my day time job is computer programming (wintel world), photography is my passion, biggest hobby, and sometimes a source of an occasional income (when I can score it.
I also use my programming skills alongside my photography: the application I wrote, Star*Explorer, helps smugmug users around the globe to upload, download and otherwise handle their pictures online.
Photography-wise, my favorite subjects are people (women, to be more specific, but I don't mind landscape, architecture, sport, action, events and, pretty much, anything at all.
I started taking pictures when I was 9, with a 6x9cm (2.4'x3.5') view camera. I got my first digital camera (VGA Ricoh RDC-300) in 1997. Went through three Sony F-series bodies (505, 505V, 828), and now I'm shooting with Canon 30D. You can always check my pixels at www.photosocal.com.
Thank you for reading!
