I made another trip into Yellowstone last week. As many times as I have been there I still love this place. I had the most productive trip ever and managed to capture some good images. C&C always welcome.
A view of the Lower Falls and Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Pentax K20D + DA* 50-135mm f/2.8.
The weather was nice and warm for the first couple of days and then...well, it is springtime in the Rockies! Pentax K20D + DA 35mm f/2.8 Macro Limited.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time, love the first shot, it must be to be so exhilarating next to that waterfall, the second one makes me think of Narnia and the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, just needs Mr Tumnus on the path!

Thanks for the comment Jan. I do have great time in Yellowstone. I live only 3 hours from the north entrance so I try to take advantage of it as much as possible.

OMG.. I am green with envy... If I were to live 3 hours from the park, I would be there every weekend with my tent lol...
I am planning my trip for 2011 with my other half.. what season would you recommend? we are aiming for a 2 week visit.
Oh ...and lovely images :)

Thanks Ivan. Well, I like all the seasons in Yellowstone. The Park is generally fully open from the middle of May until early October depending on the weather. The only campground open all year is the one at Mammoth Hot Springs. The best wildlife viewing is very early or late in the day. That's when all the tourists have gone to dinner and the 500 and 600mm lenses come out to play.
