I'll come back to these after I have thought about them some more. Initial gut reaction? I like the first one very much but the second one unnerves me due to the strange angle. There's something I can't put my finger on which bothers me, or maybe it's just a personal sense of disorientation I get from it

These two very different pictures are united by their the unilateral rim of lighting and a disturbing aura. The first picture shows a person, perhaps contemplating. The second makes the human subject in part an object, like The Myth of Theseus and the Minotaur: Half-man, Half-bull, so here we have perhaps, half-man half-death.

Is that disturbing? To me yes. Is it a good photograph? Well, I'm thinking about that so perhaps, to me, at least, it is.
