pictures that come up. I think it may look more professional if perhaps the latest news was posted there or something. What do you think?

Don't think so.

When did photos become 'unprofessional' - particularly for a Website dedicated to photography? I think there are enough news sitesspecialising in rumours, PR and industry reporting out there.

Thanks, Dierk for explaining. You are entirely correct. We will show news, but that will be an extra. Our energy is devoted to going "From Vision to Print" or "Intent to Print" in the best way possible. If that takes unique equipment, we'll try to cover it.

Examples from all kinds of photography have been posted, so as to indicate our intended audience and the esthetics we like.

Some are perfect. Some show powerful emotion. Others, the beauty of wildlife and the planet we have claimed sovereignty over.

We want to cover the commercial and the transcendental and everything in between. That, in itself, is a tall order. Unusual and ambitious, yes. Unprofessiona? Surely not?

By renewing the front page, one can go through the images. This was the fastest and cleanest way of showing our intent.

but I guess my question is: whose photos are they? And why are they there? That I guess is more my point. someplaces have a photo of the week etc. and that works well IMHO. Anyway I don't care too much, just a random suggestion, and you can't take all of those! your doing a good job with the site

All images I have seen yet, featured a clear copyright, so it is clear whose they are. It's just an opener, the title photo of the Internet magazine called The Open Photography Forums.

Hi Daniel,

We are in fact happy to take suggestions. Without feedback, the plane crashes. Same here!

The photos have been chosen by me and the structure of the front page will evolve. There is actually such a lot to do. I simply explore the portfolios of some and know the work of others. That is how pictures get on the front page. They just represent the breadth of OPF interest. If someone submits their pictures that is appreciated, however they may or may not be chosen. We are trying to balance out styles and areas of interest. So now, for example, product, classic portraits, editorial or news photography images are needed.

btw, I now see your real name and it is not Dazaau! Could you make sure you are registered under that very respectable name of Daniel Harrison. Get Michael Tapes to help you or, if you PM ore email me, I'll pass it on to him.

We take all suggestions and put them in the pot for any future rework of the interface. We have had great feedback!

After June 7th, we'll close this particular room," OPF, Look Feel and Vibe"! So any new ideas are welcome until then here and afterwards from the front page.
