Art from Found Photographs Sadly, works get forgotten. A good eye can bring new life if one has humor, knowledge and vision. The used pictures must be either yours, from the public domain or legal rights of usage having been obtained. Be prepared to explain image sources without being defensive or mad at the moderator. This does not diminish your art, just helps with historical provenance.

Been studying the cover. The work you must have put into this is on display.
The thoughts and vision, for the time, being escape me.

Lovely work.

Regards.

Charlotte, This is excellent! Very evocative of a variety of feelings that can synchronize with the title. Kudos!

Charlotte, after an intense in-house discussion, we think we shall use #1 as a cover.
It was intense! The final contenders were #1 and #2.

Take care.

The second one for me... The overlay is the best on this one. (placement of the elements)... I feel it more "demonic"... We all know cats are plotting to take over the world.

Hi Charlotte,

Nice series.

I've got a couple of questions about the cat.
Is it yours?
Is it a Tonkinese?

Charlotte, on its own this is nice. More so because I love marmalade.

But ' Demonic cats ' are the ones this image has to surpass.

Tough call!!

You make marmalade at home?

Regards.

Fahim

You are into those "Demonic Cats"
I got the idea from the movie "Poison Ivy" Ivy was a very bad girl who tried to do bad things to a family in order to gain control-
so I created "Poison Marmalade" Marmalade looks like she wants to do bad things too-
no I have never made marmalade but I adore to eat Spanish marmalade-
thanks for coming by-

Default Overlay as Paintings

I was invited into a by invitation only group Advanced Vision and Art by Renee' Frank Granada
which I have found to be an invaluable muse. The artists there are extremely talented and I think I may be the only American. Most speak English and if I have a problem I just go to my translator.
I have found that in themes such as paintings that I could make with an overlay like an oil or water color- here are my offerings as such-

Hello Charlotte,

With your success in book covers and now this art, you might be leaving the planet altogether, LOL! René Frank is an interesting fellow and am glad you have him as a friend.

I'd love to know the background to these two pictures and what they represent for you. Will they be offered as book covers too? There's a good place for text on each one.

Or are they intended to be printed as works for their own value as pictures and what size?

Asher

P.S. Now please go to the recent posts and find 3 photographer's pictures for you to comment on! That will help make OPF work as we look after and value each other.

Charlotte, you never cease to amaze me with your work ( and your imagination and vision ) posted here.

These two are no exception!

I am happy that you are being recognized.

Best wishes.

I feel a bit silly, but I have always been told that there are no silly questions, so... Can you please tell me:
-who is Renee' Frank Granada?
-what do you call an overlay?
