Hi folks, I live in the Hague (Netherlands) and do a bit a of photography. Originally I was a chemist with a very long list of degrees, etc and spent most of my younger days and nights in the labs in 3 continents. I don't do that anymore though I hope the curiosity which was a driving factor will always stay with me.
![]() My special interests/expertise are in Ultraviolet, Infrared and related areas with a strong interest in Street photography. Most often, I put together my own tools using whatever that is available to me. Of late, I had restricted my web activities only to flickr where I display some of my images. http://www.flickr.com/photos/vivek-iyer/ A false color IR street snap. A recent false color UV captures using one of my latest and greatest set ups: I am unsure about the level of participation I might or might not have here, especially since I will be off on vacation for a 3 weeks, soon. |

Welcome Vivek!
We are so happy to have another fellow from the Nederlands! A false color IR street snap. This, Vivek, is quite remarkable and provocative. It has it's immediate impact and then one thinks of the long term, the future for this child and then, perhaps for us. What a great introduction! Asher How do you happen to choose the colors that are assigned? They work so well!

Thanks a bunch for your warm welcome, Asher!
![]() Thanks for your kind words on the image. All three I showed here are technically challenging in different aspects. On the false color IR image: It was taken using a converted Panasonic G1, 20/1.7 lens with a Hoya R72 filter while panning. The colors are assigned- black dropper in PS on the inside of the bicycle tires. |

Hi Vivek,
From one Dutchie to another, hartelijk welkom! Bart van der Wolf and I are kind of resident Dutch ambassadors here in OPF. So you'll never be alone.

Hi Cem,
Vielen Dank! I am terrible when it comes to languages. Though I lived in Germany for a few years, I never spoke German and whenever I try to speak Dutch, German words come to my mind from nowhere! Thank you for your warm welcome!
