This year, as for so many years, at Christmas Carla mounted a splendid dinner for as many of the family as could attend. This year was no different, but in fact this may have been the last such event. As many of you know, we plan to move shortly to New Mexico (likely Alamogordo), presumably to a smaller home (without the capacity for a throng - heh heh!).
I thought I would share with our friends here some scenes from the event. (The next wave will occur today, Boxing Day, when another branch of the family will come by.) We'll start with Carla, not here in her role as host and chef: ![]() Douglas A. Kerr: Bad girls get coal for Christmas, good girls get stones These are blue topaz (ironically enough the state gemstone of Texas). Next, Ethan, our youngest great-grandchild (just a little over one year old): ![]() Douglas A. Kerr: Ethan - peek-a-boo Here are Ethan's parents, Kat and Drew (Carla's grandson): ![]() Douglas A. Kerr: Kat and Drew Drew is going into the construction management field. The two main women in Ethan's life (so far): ![]() Douglas A. Kerr: Kat and Kelley Ethan's mother, Kat (l) and his proud grandmother, Kelley (Drew's mother) (r) Well, I have to get ready for today's wave. More later. Best regards, Doug |

It's nice to see that someone had a good time with visiting family. We had no visitors this year... just a quiet, drama-free Christmas, followed by a trip to the movie theater and then back home to play with our new goodies.
We thought it might be too quiet without visitors, but in the end we all agreed it was our best Christmas ever.

Here is the third wave - they live in McKinney, Texas (far north of Dallas). They visited on Boxing Day.
![]() Douglas A. Kerr: The family Fern Behind the sofa is Marcia, formerly the wife of Carla's eldest grandson Corey (her ancestry is French, Creole, and Cherokee). Their two daughters are Taylor Anne (l, 13) and Tawni Alexis (r, 11). They are part Cherokee on both sides). To the right is Troy, Marcia's new husband (you've seen some pix from the wedding - steam locomotive and all). He is part Sioux. All very inter-tribal. Best regards, Doug |
