Lightroom Slideshow trouble

Anyone else having trouble with the slideshow features?

I am on PC, Screen= Matrox Parhelia 3840x1024 @32 bit

Whatever settings I choose, I can not get any slideshow to display.

Works Ok here on my ageing Win XP machine.

What I go wrong with now and then is the thumbnail selection as it is sometimes not so straight forward (normal, light grey and even lighter grey for selection). It turns out I have made a selection of one. Canceling the selection all together usually brings up all the shots in the folder in the slideshow.
