Kitesurfing

In a normal Kite Surfing event, the first shot is what you would expect to see...but they get old and boring pretty quickly....but, when you slow the shutter speed down from 1/1250 to 1/6, 1/8 or 1/15, it changes the whole aspect of the sport. This is a project in progress as I experiment with different lenses and shutter speeds. * Note: With the exception of a few very discreet crops, these are full frame shot with a Nikon D810 and a Tamron 150-600.

And just because he was there and I was shooting at 1/15 of a sec, I shot this guy hovering in the 25kt wind which was driving the kites.

I'm impressed at these telephoto pictures, Chris. It speaks well of your skill and the Tamron's design!

This is beautifully drawn. Wonderful and dreamy!

Chris, very cool. What length and I guess handheld ? Looks fun to play around with and we usually have kite surfers at Pawleys Island SC. I will have to try that with my Canon 70 - 200 f4L or 400 5.6L.

I was shooting a Nikon D810 with a Tamron 150-600 mostly at the full 600mm.The third kitesurfer is nearly full frame. That shot was ISO 64, F/25 1/15th
