Will this X camera be a winner?

Fuji announces a new X series camera that could be APS-C size or perhaps full frame?

They've the cutting edge technology to do what they wish. Certainly, this seems to strengthen the move to solid pro-level compact cameras!

January 28th and we'll know!

On paper, it seems lovely. I think it will be
A winner.

FF comes at a certain size and cost point, which might
Seem a bit high; if one includes the lenses.

I have held the belief that native lenses are usually the
Best. Using adapters with long lenses on small cameras
( and some lenses are real heavy ), goes against
The ethos of small size.

This Fuji offering is more likely bigger than an XE1; more like
The X-PRO.

Not for me, currently, for many reasons.
But Fuji is doing something right.

This might succeed where the Df has not
Met user aspirations.

The 56/1.2, and the samples from it, make
It extremely tempting for me though.

Fahim,

So I'd love to be able to have a small high class camera with, native, (as you point out), pro lenses. Well Fuji it seems will deliver exactly that. I wonder whether we'll see a hybrid viewfinder too?

Interestingly, a new Ricoh GR APS-C fixed lens camera is expected with a zoom!

You're right. Best when one has some of those great lenses already! Otherwise there's a huge price barrier.

Actually, even at APS-C size, the new Fuji could be very attractive if the overall price is right.
