I was told or read some where that the Pentax K20D has a HDR process built into it.Its a 3 exsposure process from what i understand...I cant find my manual...Know that its on line some where but was just wondering if that was so?....I am against HDR,most of the time the images just dont have the proper tonal range or they look freakish, too perfect...One can usually spot a HDR image...

Hi Erik,

I don't know the specifics of the K20D, but maybe HDR was mentioned in combination with (as an application of) exposure bracketing. In theory HDR could be a camera function, but it would be limited to stationary subjects shot from a tripod. External to the camera there are more possibilities to achieve an HDR capture with additional software, since files can be aligned better e.g. when there was camera movement (handheld versus tripod).

Cheers,
Bart
