  • Welcome to the new site. Here's a thread about the update where you can post your feedback, ask questions or spot those nasty bugs!

Administrative: Changing your posts!

We show pictures or make comments with varying degrees of planning and contemplation.

What if we change out mind or a relative simply doesn't want that particular picture in public?

Immediate Remedies

  • You can edit for a reasonable period, right now, I think it's 6 hours.

  • You can provide alternate text/images

  • You can ask for that post to be deleted forthwith

After the thread has been responded to:

  • Any post that does not break the logical chain of discussion, point and counterpoint, can be removed simply at the poster's request. We can also substitute your revised text. (If it is only I who have responded, that is simply considered removable at your request when you remove your post.)

  • The only thing that limits us is when a photograph has generated a lot of response and removing the picture makes the entire thread incomprehensible. Even then, we can remove a picture by simply describing its content.

  • When one has ethical second thoughts, such as in sharing a picture that relatives or friends might not really like to be public. In that case, the image is removed forthwith and if the thread is lost, so be it!

  • Otherwise, what's here is for ever....so to speak. BTW, nothing is actually deleted intentionally. Any content that is inappropriate, for example child porn, (never happened), personal ad hominem rants and the like, are transferred to our vault. If the moderator is mistaken, then the post can be reinstated, o
    f course.

.........also note that post in the wrong place might get moved, especially if a major new topic is silencing the original intent of the post that started that thread.

So allow us the leeway to move long O.T. posts as there will be a forwarding address. Small diversions are fun and perfectly acceptable!
