We all have discovered pictures put aside long ago. There are so many undiscovered treasures languishing in tattered envelopes, old shoes boxes or stuffed into some box of papers to be sorted out, "later". Those who visit antique or second-hand, "flea markets" or "junk stores" will see many examples in the form of worn leather bound family albums or just mixed up stack of pictures from everywhere and seemingly from all times.
These pictures likely were the truth at the time they were made and important. Now the re-use and repurposing will be at the least, quite separated from that. Still, the picture could be just restored, repaired or enhanced and still be factual. Likely as not, the picture will be fantasy and that's fine too!
So now is the time to grab these, photograph or scan them and see how they might be given new life here. Try to state the provenance of the component pictures where you can. How you process, combine or transform them is only limited by your skill, imagination and talent.
