Again, well lit and framed!

Alien Bees can be proud!

Does everyone shoot tight. You are skilled and the framing is great.

Just a question of style. Anyone use wider framing to give more of the context of the rest of the team surounding the players with the ball?

The need for parents to have photographs of the action may be making images tighter and tighter. Or am I wrong?

Thanks again William for sharing.

BTW, William, what camera and lens do you use.

How far from the lines are you?

What is the minimum focal lenth you need to frame sufficiently?

Look at this with the 85mm here and my comments.

Thanks,

Asher

Asher,

Here are the pics that show where I placed the strobe. I feel I didn't do a good job with these pics, I should have taken one behind the strobe so that the court angle was clearly visible. These were shot with the kit lens 18-55mm at different stops.

Are you using a 7" reflector or the 11"? I have both but am not sure which is better in a setup like yours. I would assume the 7" is better to control the throw of the light more specific for your shooting end rather than pan deeper into the gym away from you...?

I shot my AB800's tonight. Took me a bit to dial in. I wish I had of pointed more down, but was asked by an official in the beginning to point more up. So I ended up at around 60 degree or 70 rather than 45...but still had a few nice shots.
