I'm pretty sure THIS gets you attention Asher ... ;-)

One of the very few X-Ray machine lenses which can be converted for further (even infinity) focus...

These are beautiful!

......But what’s the source of connection with radiation machines? What “”radiation” energy, (say 10-100 Kv), photons could use this bespoke lens without kicking off electrons in a few mm and goodbye to those photons?

Do you refer to the use of radioactive thorium in some of these vintage lenses in the Heligon Series?

Am I missing something in my physics here?

Jerome,

Did you find a diagram that identified each of the three lenses in the diagram and their nomenclature?

Klaus,

Thanks for the confirmation of Jerome’s great detective work! What is the position in this Rodenstock diagram of the lens you used here?

Recording Lens most likely, as teh back focal diatnce is rather long. The lens specs are not clear about that. It is one of that tandem lens configuration ...

These shots are straight up gorgeous! What makes it more interesting is the setup. Thank you for sharing. I can't even fully make out what the third one is one but the lighting and close up detail is fantastic. Amazing stuff!

Klaus, cool photos!

Would you please post a close up / detailed photo of the lens you used?

Thanks,
