The Photography Program at Long Beach City College will host the 2nd annual PhotoFest09@LBCC featuring four days of free photography-related events and celebrations on April 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. The festival will bring together a wide array of accomplished photographers and showcase the work of renowned photographic artists and photojournalists.

The main emphasis of the festival will be the workshops, demonstrations and seminars held over the four-day period.

These events are free, open to students and the general public as well, and are suitable for all levels of expertise.

The festival will feature a Photography contest that is open to all LBCC students as well as a “juniors” section for high school students. The Friday evening exhibition and reception will showcase work from the LBCC photography program as well as reveal the photography contest winners.

These seminars will cover everything photographic: fine art to commercial, film to pixels, toy cameras to the latest DSLRs. For lovers of traditional photography, each day we will have a “get your hands wet” darkroom workshop on film and alternative processes (bring your negatives).

The festival is open to everyone. The workshops cover all levels of expertise, from beginner to expert. Even better, PhotoFest09@LBCC is FREE.

Festival Seminars will be held at the Pacific Coast Campus Photography facility of Long Beach City College from Wednesday April 1st to Saturday April 4th, 2009. The campus is located at 1305 E. Pacific Coast Hwy in Long Beach, CA.

I can see some of the workshops are getting filled up. Some good topics still open....and it's free!
