Why? Because I like to punish myself...
Actually I'm committed to shooting for the local school and local newspaper. It's extremely frustrating to me, shooting in such horrid lighting conditions.

Hi Jeff,

I am no expert on sports photography but it seems to me that you have done a very good job despite the lighting conditions.

Are these original frames or crops? Specifically numbers 3 and 4.

I humbly think that #3 can use some more space to the left, but I may be totally off the mark of course.

Re. #4, do you have a larger frame showing the feer and/or the elbow? I know that some people are quite sensitive to cut-off limbs ;-). Regardless, this is my favorite frame of the 4 here.

Thanks for showing.

Cheers,

Thanks so much for the comments.
#3 is a crop, and #4 was just the way it was framed. I try not to crop out feet/hands...etc. I was using a fixed lens (300) and this was just the way the picture filled the frame.

Nill I used an SB800, set to TTL, mounted on the monopod about 14 inches below camera. Still had a lot of redeye...but LR has a good redeye removal. Shot in jpg.
Shooting HS football is frustrating, as the fields are not set up for photographic opportunity.
