In Perspective, Planet: Photographic Art from Magnetic Fields of our Moon!

Who'd have thought that a pair of satellites circling 50km above the moon could make stunningly beautiful evidence of raining meteors that pock marked and sculpted the moons ancient surface. Red signifies increased mass, while blue shows mass missing in that area.

Read more in BBC news here. Imagine that for the first billion years of planet earths existence, the surface was pummeled with such meteor showers, like millions of nuclear weapons detonating all over. however, subsequently, tectonic plate movements have largely healed all these wounds, but we still have the mass material residue in the heritage of the planet's violent history. amazing the life did not get vaporized in the process! :)

For an overall distant impression of the entire surface, red means increased mass and blue means less mass than the rest of the superficial crust of the moon. As you can see, there really are ghosts hanging out there!

These images are brand new and you are among the first humans too be able to appreciate the wonder of this important part of our home planet and it's moon!
