In Perspective, Planet: Animals Adopting pets!! Share images and insights!

Asher Kelman

OPF Owner/Editor-in-Chief
We all know that children like dolls, rubber ducks in the bath and teddy bears, dogs or lions to cuddle up with at night. But we also hold that our close relatives, the other primates, are pretty advanced. so why on earthy would an adult monkey adopt a kitten?

I've seen apes use a monkey as a kind of softball just for fooling around and sport. but here's a case of a monkey adopting a species that's really so foreign to it. Or is there something in common with our own avidity for pets?
