Mr. President, Tear down That Flag!

From what I understand the reason every one has their knickers in a twist about the flag is because of the shooting in Charleston.

That ungraciously ignores the 100% of blacks who were insulted daily, (having to see that flag, each day on their own State building), well before the murders!

The Charleston killings just embarrassed the good Southern folk who saw flying it on public buildings as offensive!

The question is - will removing the flag change anything?

Once again, Lee, who ever conjured up such a preposterous proposition?

No one ever postulated that removing the flag does anything except show our decency in stopping an insult. That's it! As I have said repeatedly, no one on the planet has any expectation of anything else.

This was a lonely, isolated, mentally disturbed kid from a broken home who found acceptance in extremism. Despite the horrific crime one feels he is as much a victim as the people he shot. Will removing the flag stop another isolated, damaged kid following his path? Or is it an easy path to ease the collective guilt?

Lee, as soon as you see the words, "Fox News", spare yourself! Just take whatever follows with a large pinch of salt! Fox News is wonderfully popular for believers in some war against Christian Values, War Against Christianity and Fraud of Global Warming. Except for a few exceptions times of brilliant news reporting leading all other media sources as in the reporting on Hurricane Katrina, they have shrill mantra-repeating "talking heads" who preach about a left wing liberal conspiracy involving, abortion, taxes of the rich, destabilization of Christmas, Obamacare, Marriage for Gays and the like.

The nature of this fellow is not important. When one has large, regality communicating, devoted, internet-connected hate mongering, this fellow or someone else will eventually act out the intentions of the interconnected group personality. Except none of the others get to face consequences.

There's no way to remove the flag, the Bible or any other White Supremacist symbologies from them. They are personal property and not illegal. We have freedom of speech in the USA and anyone can own whatever bible or flag they want.

In the UK, this might, if proven, amount to conspiring to hate speech and be actionable, but we have no such authority to interfere in the USA.

First of all dismissing a news report because it is inaccurate is one thing, but dismissing it because of the politics of the news station is neither fair nor right. Biased or not, if it is factually correct then the bias has nothing to do with it.

IMO All news is biased one way or another, all one can do is check and double check the facts and read from more than one source.

Second of all:

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/jun/28/confederate-battle-flag-scar-we-cannot-erase

and

http://flavorwire.com/524864/yes-take-down-the-confederate-flag-but-then-what

What use is taking down the flag if Southern schools still teach revisionist propaganda? If black people can’t get mortgages? If an outrageous number of black men are incarcerated? The very real danger in the wake of Charleston is that the nation’s response will stop at the flag — and that would be the grandest, emptiest gesture of them all.

Appears I'm not the only one to think that taking down the flag is not the solution.

With some folk, one merely have to see if their lips are moving! But I didn't go that far. I just suggested a pinch of salt and pointed out that from time to time, Fox News is superb, but regarding any subject which is opinion-driven, unlike a "hurricane Katrina", which is a mainly fact/based obvious tragedy, Fox News follows a script of paranoid comments against liberal social causes and opinions.

So that's it! A simple rule for dividing fact from rants on Fox!

Confederate flag flying above Confederate Memorial in Columbia, SC will be down after July 4 before KKK comes to town. It is coming down because of BMW, Volvo and Daimler AG.
