New great-granddaughter

Doug Kerr

Well-known member
Carla recently traveled to central California to see her newest great-grandchild (the 13th), a beautiful little girl named Sidney.

Here we see the proud great-grandma and Sidney, then only about two weeks old:

Carla and Sidney

Note that Sidney is following the admonition, recently given in this forum, to have her eyes always point the same way as her nose.

Here we see four generations:

Four Generations

In the rear: Carl's oldest son, Russ. In front: Dakoda ("We didn't want to name him after a state." "Well, two states."); Brooke (her middle name is Lynne, so you can imagine what she's called); proud mom Tiffany, Russ' second-youngest, with Sidney; and proud great-grandma Carla.

Not to ignore Sidney's dad, here we see the family:

Tiffany, Michael, and the Kids

Michael is an IT specialist with a government contractor. He is a veteran of the US Marine Corps, where he helped take care of their "intranet".

Sidney is eligible to be recognized as a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, as a lineal descendant of someone listed on the "Dawes Rolls", a census of Cherokees who came to what is now Oklahoma on what is known as the "Trail of Tears".

While I'm at it, I'll mention that also included on the Dawes Rolls were black domestic servants (freed slaves) of some of the Cherokees who traveled with the families. For some while the Cherokee Nation excluded descendants of these people from recognition as member of the Cherokee Nation, but in 2017 (after a complicated sequence of tribal and US court rulings) that policy was finally reversed.

Best regards,

Doug

As images go I think the first is the keeper recognizing the others are important family documentation.

I agree!

First Carla and the infant fill the mind, (and frame), and there are only two elements, then the flash is not effective at that distance!
