Just got it last night and have not had a chance to play with it too much.
I installed the BG-E2 grip that I had left-over from my 30D and took
some shots outside my window this morning with a 300mm f2.8 L.
AF is definitely quick, and the motor drive is awesome!! It is very fast and
extremely quiet, probably due to the new motor-driven mirror assembly.
I like the menu and control layout; as a 30D user I didn't even have to open the
manual to set it up! The bare metal hot shoe is a nice touch.
I'll get to shoot some birds on Sunday and will then determine just
how good the AI Servo and faster frame rate really are. ;-)
The 3" LCD is worrying me, though. It seems to have a purplish cast when
I review the images, and it doesn't change much when I play with the white
balance.
Has anyone noticed this?
My MkIIn shows cast-free images that are almost dull compared with the 40D.
thanks
