Has anyone calculated the efficiency of travel in terms of energy used per miles of flight compared to humans or cars and planes?

It turns out that about 12% of birds are migratory and it’s about more efficient gathering of energy.

However, for migratory birds, there’s exhaustion, being eaten by predators, or simply falling out of the sky, many hit lit buildings at night so it’s a risky venture but it pays off with less competition for abundant food resources!
