Expression of esthetic and emotional qualities in the human body. This forum, like any fine art gallery, will be curated to develop and encourage a high artistic standard. Photographs that are posted are "submitted" work. From these, some will be selected for this forum to view and be discussed. Non-selection of an image should never be taken as a rejection, rather that the work does not fit with our current goals. We encourage the broadest submissions and we predict that our opinions might often match yours. Pictures that are inappropriate include (but are not limited to) snapshots, photojournalism or "cheesecake" glamor shots. Decision will not be perfect, right, or the best possible, but will be final and not negotiable. However, the likelehood is that most phortgraphers know what fine art might include and would therefore have no issues with this policy. This requires that you login and that you are at least 18 years old.

At any stage of experience we must still explore new areas where we are perhaps not yet fully expert or else have new ideas to kick around. Pictures might not meet exhibition, client or even our own highest standards. Critique will be tough love!

Some pictures have far more to see than what is immediately obvious. It's also a window and a library of whatever went before. Tell us this and so we'll be taken beyond the picture deep into the nature and feelings that will buttress the pictures and pull us to come back.

Continuous and Strobe Lighting. (The Sun is considered continuous!) Great ideas are really ten a penny! Technique in setting up the subject is, of course, essential. However, the ability to bring out form, texture, tonality and color is where the skill in lighting provides all the keys to engraving one's ideas on the delivered picture.

Macro and Micro Plants, insects, ice and other micro or macro artistic work

Imagery where the photographer has expressed feelings and vision in an image. Even if the effort is incomplete the work is considered art, as art is an active progressive iterative process to render the imagined into a physical form. We'd include simple and derived photographic images and even multimedia works. Here is also the place for art inspired by prose or poetry or other art.

Photography inspired by music or the inverse. We invite a link to a free or inexpensive licensed source or that everyone knows so people can hear the music associated with the photograph. We really want creative work which connects music to photography by inspiration! Yes, pictures of performers are allowed, but please also create your own photographs which illustrate the music. This site is moderated so each musical composition will be considered on it own with the broadest interests. The same rules for the lyrics applies as to images in OPF.

The 21 Century photographer is in a position to photograph and then report what happens in areas of strife, war and social challenge. We want first to host photographs that hold a lantern up to what happens at the hand of man and the forces of nature. So this forum looks at images beyond what would appear in most news papers or broadcasts as we can show more. There are no restrictions but we reserve the right to move at least in the short term pictures that are offensive or demeaning. This forum is mainly for photographs and then their discussion. Maintain empathy but no propaganda!
