Red beans on the stove

Carla will be making that favorite Texas-Louisiana staple red beans and rice (with some sausage) for us for this coming weekend. I saw the beans soaking in a saucepan on the stove and was struck by their color and pattern.

This was shot with available light (mainly the downlights on the range hood, which have some bizarre chromaticity).

What might you add to losd in some feelings or ideas?

Doug,

A rather serious and startling dose of beans, LOL! I do like the color and I also see more possibilties. The brick red beans provide a major, albeit stochastic, pattern; a remarkable earthen color. The saucepan is reflective and the stove itself gives contrasting structural framework. That I see as a foundation. Here's a challenge for you. How might you add a component to this picture to give it a kick so it will be more daring, sentimental memorable or some other human quality?

Asher :)
