How can you put these two pictures together. One's soft and blurred. (Is it processed like that?) and the other is as shot. It's not a before and after pair, so I cannot fathom how they are related thematically, beyond having the same wonderful human soul in both!
So what is it supposed to be?
There's not explanation and it's not self-evident to me what's going on!

I simply liked both of them that's all- the soft focus done on purpose for the effect of warmth beside the fire
and
the other in focus for the obvious effect- thanks for coming by- I try all sorts of things with the camera-

Hi Charlotte,
So is the soft focus wide aperture or a filter in post processing. I do prefer it.

what I did was take it a bit out of focus- and quick click-

The second image, BTW, is grossly under-exposed. How come you did this? Look at the levels in Photoshop. It is improved by moving the right hand slider inwards to where data starts at mid point!
