Paul Abbott - Self Portrait

Hi Paul,

Certainly, yourself portrait will never go unnoticed. It boldly warns, interrogates and implores us. With such a pose, perhaps you would have us go to war or simply refuse. But what it is? Are you holding a tiny camera? How was the picture made?

I took advantage of some early evening sunlight coming through the bedroom window. I set the camera's self-timer to 2sec., then I loosely rested the camera on some laundry which sat atop a chest of drawers by the window. I could see myself reflected in the lens glass and used that as a reference point, I then took the picture.
This was the best one of four shots taken.

Asher, I forgot to watermark it with 'Happy Christmas'. :D

I love the facial expression! In fact, I like it so much I find the finger distracting and long to crop it out. However, the finger is an integral part of the image. Tis a conundrum.

Don't touch that finger Rachel! It's the cornerstone of the effect!
Love the image!

Me thinks someone should set up a challenge - "Unusual Self Portraits" !
